Im Da-young, better known as Dayoung, was born on May 14, 1999, in Jeju Island, South Korea. She is a singer who gained prominence as a member of the South Korean girl group WJSN and its subunit WJSN Chocome. Dayoung began her career as part of WJSN, which debuted in February 2016 under Starship Entertainment. The group quickly rose to popularity with hits like "Would You Like?" and "Happy Moment." Dayoung's contributions to the group included her vocal talents and participation in various sub-units. Dayoung made her solo debut on September 9, 2025, with the digital single album gonna love me, right?, which featured the lead single "Body". This release marked a significant milestone in her career, showcasing her individual artistry and expanding her musical horizons beyond her work with WJSN. The single album entered Korea's Top 100 albums chart at rank 96 the week after its release.
