Lázaro Caballero Moreno, born on September 4, 1992, in Formosa, Argentina, is a folklore singer and songwriter. His early exposure to folk music came from parents Mirta Moreno and Lázaro Caballero, and he received a guitar at age three and a percussion instrument at four, leading to his first public performance at seven in Pozo del Tigre. Lázaro Caballero Moreno’s debut album La nueva simiente introduced him to regional festivals, followed by El gurisito formoseño in 2003, which included his first composition, "La medallita". In 2004 he released Con sangre de quebracho, and in 2012 he appeared on the main stage of the Festival de Cosquín, winning the Consagración award there in 2014. His career has been marked by multiple revelation awards at festivals such as Monte Caseros, the Festival de la guitarra, and the Festival de la Chaya, underscoring his influence within Argentine traditional music. In the following years he continued building his catalog with releases such as Soy lo Que Canto in 2020 and De Ivý Porá in 2021, then added projects including Enganchado Heridor in 2023, Enganchado Heridor, Vol. 2 and Enganchado Pa La Sed in 2024, and singles such as "Qué Hubiera Sido" and "Chacarera del Olvido" in 2025. By 2025 and 2026, he remained a regular presence on major folklore stages, including Cosquín and Jesús María, and in 2026 he reached a broader mainstream audience through "Hoja en Blanco," a duet with Soledad Pastorutti released as part of her Casa Sole project.
