Who is Quidam ? Silly question since it refers to no one. A quidam could be anyone. With this commun name, turned into a proper one, Baptiste Guillemet defines his music : a willingness to not categorize it, a protean music whose mission, if one were needed, is to translate and provoke emotions and feelings.
Vinyl collector, DJ member of Mercredi records, music producer, co-organizer of the Sachô Galiero festival, keyboard player and singer in a prog-rock band, Quidam wears many hats enabling him to embrace all the genres of music that inspire him. Used to editing others’ music, he builds his own universe through overlap of collages and modified loops, a structure on which he improvises rhythmic and melodic elements. The result is an intimate, mysterious and surprising world of sounds, highly influenced by the 90’s atmosphere, arousing a reflective yet dancing melancholy.
