Wu Syndicate, a hip-hop group from Virginia, was formed in 1998 and consisted of Joe Mafia, Napoleon, and Myalansky. Initially known as Crime Syndicate, they changed their name to Wu-Syndicate upon signing with Wu-Tang Records, becoming affiliates of the Wu-Tang Clan. Their debut album Wu-Syndicate was released in 1999 on both Wu-Tang Records and Slot Time Records, featuring the gold-certified single "Where Was Heaven". A dispute with Wu-Tang Records led to a brief name change to the Syndicate until 2009, when they reconciled and released their second album Grimlenz (2010). Despite internal conflicts, the group maintained ties with various members of the Wu-Tang Family. Joe Mafia, Napoleon, and Myalansky have all pursued solo careers, releasing several albums and mixtapes.
