Linus Loves is the alias of Duncan Reid, a Scottish dance music remixer and producer born in 2003, who began his career as part of a duo with Kevin McKay. The partnership launched Breastfed Recordings in 2002 alongside Myles MacInnes, and their debut single, "Stand Back", released in 2003, entered the UK Singles Chart at Number Thirty‑One in November of that year. After McKay departed in 2005, Reid continued alone. His work expanded to include the 2006 album Stage Invader and the EP The Victoria Principle in 2005. Throughout the mid‑2000s and 2010s, Reid remixed tracks for high‑profile artists such as Britney Spears, Kelis, Mika, Jamiroquai, and Scissor Sisters, contributing to singles like "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'" and "SexyBack". His remix of "Read My Mind" for The Killers in 2007 and "Hold It Against Me" for Britney Spears in 2011 underscored his influence in electronic and pop circles.
