Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio, originally Ordo Equilibrio, was founded in 1993 by Swedish musician Tomas Petersson. The project began as a duo with Chelsea Krook, focusing on neofolk with acoustic guitars and ritualistic percussion. Their debut album, Reaping The Fallen... The First Harvest, was released in 1995 under Cold Meat Industry. In 1998, they released Conquest, Love & Self Perserverance. Following Krook's departure, Rose-Maria Larsen joined, and the band renamed itself Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio. Subsequent albums included Make Love, And War (the Wedlock Of Roses) in 2001. The group continued to evolve, releasing notable works such as "Cocktails, Carnage and Pornography" in 2003 and a split album with Spiritual Front titled Satyriasis in 2005.
