Cécile Licad, born Cecile Buencamino Licad on May 11, 1961, in Manila, Philippines, is a classical pianist. She began her piano studies at age three with her mother and later studied with Rosario Picazo. At seven, she debuted as a soloist with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra. At the age of twelve, Licad moved to the United States to study at the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia under Rudolf Serkin, Seymour Lipkin, and Mieczyslaw Horsowski. In 1981, she became one of the youngest musicians to win the Leventritt Competition Gold Medal. She has performed with orchestras worldwide, including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, and London Philharmonic Orchestra. Notable recordings include Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor (1983) and Chopin Piano Concerto No. 2 (1984).
