Adrián Iaies, born on November 4, 1960, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is a pianist and composer known for blending Argentine music, particularly tango, with jazz aesthetics. He received his first piano lessons from his mother and later studied composition under Manolo Juárez. Iaies' career began to take shape as he performed at various festivals, including Los 7 Lagos in Bariloche and the third Argentinian-Brazilian Jazz Festival in New York (2000). His album Una módica plenitud was released in 2000. Iaies has been nominated for the Latin Grammy Awards three times: for Las Tardecitas de Minton's (2000), Tango Reflections (2002), and Las cosas tienen movimiento (2003). He was awarded the Premio Clarín as best jazz musician in 2002. Iaies has also composed music for films, including Regresados.
