Box of Toys was a British new wave and synthpop band from the United Kingdom, active between 1982 and 1984. The group formed following the breakup of the powerpop band A Select Committee, with members Andy Redhead and Phil Martin joining Roy Campbell and Brian Atherton. The lineup featured Atherton on lead vocals and keyboards, Redhead on drums and guitar, Martin on saxophone and keyboards, and Campbell on bass. Before releasing commercial material, the group recorded a session for John Peel in April 1983. In August 1983, the group released its debut single, "Iām Thinking of You Now", via Inevitable Records. This was followed in 1984 by their second single, "Precious Is the Pearl", which featured the tracks "It Goes Without Saying" and "When Daylight Is Over". The group disbanded in late 1984. Following the split, Redhead formed the band 3D, while Atherton established The Light.
