Joana Amendoeira (born September 30, 1982) is a Portuguese fado singer from Santarém. Amendoeira debuted at the Grande Noite do Fado de Lisboa in 1994. In 1995, Amendoeira won the first prize for female interpretation in the juvenile category at the Grande Noite do Fado in Porto. Amendoeira performed in Budapest for the Dias de Portugal event in 1998 and released the debut album Olhos Garotos the same year. Subsequent studio recordings include Aquela Rua (2000) and the self-titled Joana Amendoeira (2003). In 2004, Amendoeira received the Premio Revelação from the Casa da Imprensa. Live recordings include Ao Vivo em Lisboa (2005) and the 2008 collaboration Joana Amendoeira & Mar Ensemble, which received the Amália Award for Best Fado Album in 2009. Amendoeira also released the albums Sétimo Fado (2010), Muito Depois (2016), and Na Volta da Maré (2021). Performance venues include the Royal Opera House in London and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
