Nayan Ghosh (born April 28, 1956) is an Indian Hindustani classical tabla and sitar maestro from the Farrukhabad Gharana. Ghosh received training in vocal music, tabla, and sitar from his father, Nikhil Ghosh, and mentors Ahmed Jan Thirakwa and Jnan Prakash Ghosh. His first tabla solo broadcast occurred at age four in 1960. Ghosh collaborated with musicians including Ravi Shankar, Vilayat Khan, and Shiv Kumar Sharma. He released the album Live at Ali Akbar College of Music (1998), featuring the pieces “Shree Raga” and “Raga Tilak Kamod”. His recording career also included the albums Dialogue and Voyage. Ghosh received the Central Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2014. He was recognized with Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Lieutenant Governor of California (1998) and the Pandit Samta Prasad foundation (2019). Ghosh is the director of Sangit Mahabharati in Mumbai.
