Irshad Khan is an Indian classical sitar and surbahar player and music educator who was born in 1963. He comes from the Imdadkhani Gharana, a musical tradition spanning four centuries that contributed to the development of the sitar. Khan made an international debut at age 13 at the Queen Elizabeth Hall and became the youngest soloist to perform at the Indian All Night Concert during the Proms at age 18. He performed in over 40 countries across North America, Europe, and Asia. Khan founded the Universal Academy for Musicians in Mississauga and Mumbai. His discography includes the studio recording The Magic of Twilight (2000).
