To My Surprise was an American experimental rock band formed in 2002 in Des Moines, Iowa. The group was a side project of Shawn Crahan, a member of the heavy metal band Slipknot. Initially consisting of Crahan, Brandon Darner, and Stevan Robinson, albums include To My Surprise (2003), issued through Roadrunner Records. In 2004, Darner left the band to pursue a career, leading to a split with Roadrunner Records. In 2005, Crahan and Robinson reunited with new members to work on a second album. The group performed at South by Southwest in 2006 but disbanded shortly after due to scheduling conflicts with Slipknot.
