The Hampton Grease Band was an American rock band formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in the late 1960s. Known for their blues rock sound and stage antics, they performed with major bands like Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers. The group signed to Columbia Records and released their debut double album Music to Eat in April 1971, which gained a cult following despite low sales. They later signed to Frank Zappa's Bizarre and Straight labels but disbanded in 1973. Several members pursued notable music careers, including Bruce Hampton with the Aquarium Rescue Unit and Glenn Phillips' solo work. Harold Kelling died in May 2005. The band held their first reunion concert on June 2, 2006, at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta.
