Kråkesølv, a Norwegian rock band from Bodø Municipality, was formed in December 2007. The group's name is derived from a tune by the hardcore band Hjertesorg, featuring members Fredrik William Olsen and Thomas Litangen. Kråkesølv's first gig took place at Kulturhuset Gimle in Bodø in 2008, followed by recording a three-track demo that was later released as a digital EP. The band gained national recognition through appearances on NRK P3's Urørt and the by:Larm music festival. In November 2009, they released their debut album Trådnøsting, which was nominated for the Spellemannprisen in both Pop music and Newcomers categories. Their second album, Bomtur Til Jorda, produced by Øystein Greni, won the 2010 Spellemannprisen in the Pop music category.
