Pöbel MC is a German hip-hop artist from Rostock. His exact date of birth is not known, but he has been appearing as a rapper since around 2015. Originally active as a drummer in various metal bands, Pöbel MC eventually found his way into hip-hop. Musically, Pöbel MC moves in the genre of political rap, integrating elements of trap, boom bap and punk into his sound. He is known for his eloquent, profound and at the same time entertaining lyrics, which deal critically with social issues. Pöbel MC releases his music via the Audiolith Records label. His debut album Bildungsbürgerprolls was released in 2020 and reached number 10 in the German album charts. Further successful albums followed, including Backpfeife auf Endlosschleife (2022) and Dr. Pöbel (2024). One of his best-known singles is "Sud". Pöbel MC often collaborates with other artists, in particular with the Rostock crew Waving The Guns. He released the joint album Soli Inkasso with WTG member Milli Dance in 2018. His latest album Dr. Pöbel will be released in October 2024, preceded by the EP Pöbel Sports Tape II in 2023. Pöbel MC is also active under the pseudonym Multilingual Mike and experiments with hard bass elements in this role, as can be heard on the EPs Nass vom Bass (2020) and Nass vom Bass II (2022).
