Luca Venezia, known professionally as Drop the Lime, is an American electronic music producer and DJ who was born in New York City. He founded the dance music label Trouble & Bass and developed a distinct musical style that blends elements of rockabilly with bass-driven music. His early work had roots in breakcore music, but he shifted his focus toward more mainstream dance music in 2008. His discography includes the studio albums This Means Forever (2005) and We Never Sleep (2006). In 2010, he released the mix CD FabricLive.53. His later recordings include the albums Enter the Night (2012) and Enter the Nite Versions (2012). Throughout his career, Venezia remixed tracks for various artists, including Armand Van Helden, Little Boots, Robyn, Moby, and Buraka Som Sistema. His original compositions often featured his own live vocals, characterized by a scratchy, bluesy tone. In 2015, Venezia concluded the Drop the Lime project to pursue other musical endeavors. He subsequently released the recording The Last Defender (2015) on cassette under his birth name.
