Jake Williams, born in 1974, is a British electronic music producer and DJ who first emerged on the scene under the pseudonym JX in 1994, releasing chart-placing singles that established his early reputation. In 2004, he adopted the alias Rex the Dog, producing remix work for Depeche Mode, Client, and The Prodigy that attracted a dedicated following and was distributed by the Cologne label Kompakt. Williams’ debut album as Rex the Dog, The Rex the Dog Show, was issued in 2008, reinforcing his presence in the electronic genre. His releases were accompanied by live performances, including a debut appearance at the TOTAL 6-Party during the c/o pop Festival on 26 August 2005, where his identity was publicly revealed. Throughout his career, Williams collaborated with notable acts, contributed to remix compilations, and maintained a consistent output of singles and EPs, solidifying his role within the UK electronic music scene.
