Fricción was an Argentine supergroup formed in 1985 that included Richard Coleman on guitar and vocals, Gustavo Cerati on guitar, Gonzo Palacios on saxophone, Celsa Mel Gowland on vocals, Christian Basso on bass, and Fernando Samalea on drums. They gained recognition in 1986 when they were named "Banda revelación" by the Sí! supplement of the Clarín newspaper. Their debut album, Consumación o consumo, produced by Cerati and released that same year, featured notable tracks such as "Perdiendo el contacto" and "Autos sobre mi cama". In 1987, Fricción underwent a lineup change. Their second album, Para terminar, was released in 1988 but received limited promotion due to the closure of their record label, leading to their dissolution in 1989. After their disbandment, their work was compiled in Héroes - Antología 1986-1988, released in 2004.
