Merlyn Wood, born William Anku Kraka Mawuli Andoh Wood Jr. on May 1, 1996, in Accra, Ghana, is a Ghanaian-American rapper and songwriter. Raised in Austin, Texas, Wood developed a passion for music during his time at boarding school in Ghana. In 2014, Wood became a member of the hip-hop collective Brockhampton, contributing to their critically acclaimed albums Saturation, Saturation II, and Saturation III. He released his debut single "Fye" in 2015, followed by "Cul de Sac" in 2016. The group signed with RCA Records in 2018 and released Iridescence, which debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard 200. Following the group’s disbandment, Wood released his debut solo EP Dirty Thunder in 2023.
