Jean-François Vrod, born on March 29, 1959 in Chatou, France, is a folk musician and composer. He began playing the violin during the folk music wave of the 1970s and became a professional musician by age 20. Vrod founded and participated in several groups, including Café-Charbons and Le Trio Violon. In the 1990s, he started a solo career, releasing albums such as Voyage (1994), Violon (1998), Crossing (1999), and La Soustraction des fleurs (2006). He collaborated with artists including Patrice Fontanarosa and Sophie Wilhelm, and founded the Collectif des Professionnels des Musiques et Danses Traditionnelles.
