Record Club, a collaborative music project initiated by Beck Hansen in June 2009, originated from a unique concept where an album by another artist was covered entirely within a single day. The project began with The Velvet Underground & Nico (2009), featuring a fluid collective of musicians including Nigel Godrich and Chris Holmes. Subsequent albums covered include Songs of Leonard Cohen (2009), Oar (2010) by Skip Spence, Kick by INXS (2010), and Yanni Live at the Acropolis (2010). Each performance was documented and published on Beck Hansen's website. Notable musicians who contributed to these sessions include Devendra Banhart, St. Vincent, and Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth.
