She made her debut in 1975 with the catchphrase "Momoe-chan of the min'yo world" and won popularity among the tea party crowd with her innovative style of singing in jeans. In 1982, "Yellow Submarine Ondo" produced by Eiichi Otaki became a hit, and her innovative attempt to sublimate the Beatles' classic song into an ondo is still highly regarded today.
