Hachirō Kasuga, born Minoru Watabe on October 9, 1924, in Aizubange, Japan, was a notable Japanese singer of the enka genre. Inspired by Ichiro Fujiyama's performances, Kasuga pursued a career in music and graduated from the Toyo Music School. In 1947, he joined the Shinjuku Moulin Rouge and signed with King Records in 1949. His breakthrough came in 1952 with "Akai lamp no Shū Ressha" ( 赤いランプの終列車 , "The Last Train with the Red Lamp"), which gained him recognition in Nagoya. He passed away on October 22, 1991.
