Humpe & Humpe is a German music project formed by sisters Annette Humpe and Inga Humpe, born in 1950 and 1956 respectively. The duo began their musical journey with the release of their debut album Humpe Und Humpe in 1985. This album marked a significant breakthrough for the sisters, who had previously been involved in various other bands and projects. Their first single from this album was "Geschrien im Schlaf / Yo No Bailo" released in 1985. The duo continued to gain traction with subsequent releases such as "No Longer Friends" in 1988. In an effort to expand their reach into the English-speaking market, they adopted the name Swimming with Sharks and released an album under that moniker in 1987. However, this attempt did not yield significant success in regions like the United States and the United Kingdom. Despite this, Humpe & Humpe managed to chart with both of their albums and two singles. Notable tracks include "Careless Love" from 1987, which was also released as a single. Annette Humpe went on to produce notable artists such as Rio Reiser and Die Prinzen, while Inga Humpe continued her musical career with bands like Neonbabies and DÖF.
