Willy Staquet, born on December 13, 1920, in La Louvière, Belgium, was an accordionist and composer known for his work in swing and musette genres. He began studying music at age 14, initially as a drummer, and won the prize for best batteur in a jazz tournament in 1941. His transition to accordion was influenced by notable musicians like Gus Viseur and Émile Carrara. His career included collaborations such as "Mon amant de Saint-Jean", recorded with Lucien Belliard and Saranc Féret for Decca Records, and performances on television shows like MUSIC PARADE in 1956 and hosting Chansons à la carte from 1972 to 1982. Willy Staquet passed away on October 23, 2010, in Mons, Belgium.
