Aleksey Kruglov, born September 5, 1979, in Pavlovsky Posad, Russian Federation, is a saxophonist and composer known for his work in free jazz and improvised music. He studied at the Sergei Kazarnovsky Centre and the Gnessin Institute in Moscow. His early breakthrough came with the composition "494+I", which won a special prize at The Blue Bird jazz club. Krouglov's career includes notable performances such as his participation in the Jazz in the Hermitage Garden Festival in Saint Petersburg and collaborations with Gary Bartz. He has released several albums, including Music of Anxiety (2008), In Tempo (2010), and Last Train From Narvskaya (2021). His work often combines elements of punk-rock energy, black humor, and folk-like lyricism, showcasing his unique approach to playing multiple instruments. Krouglov has collaborated with various artists, including Vladimir Tarasov, Fritz Hauser, Jaak Sooäär, and Joachim Kühn.
