Meytal Cohen, born August 9, 1984, in Ramat Gan, Israel, is an American drummer known for her work with the alternative metal band Meytal. She began playing drums at age 18 and studied tap dance and theater studies sbefore serving two years in the Israeli army. In 2004, Cohen moved to Los Angeles to attend the Los Angeles Music Academy. Her breakthrough came in 2009 when a YouTube video of her band Metaphor performing "Toxicity" by System of a Down garnered over three million views. This success led to the creation of Meytal's own YouTube channel, where she posted drum cover videos, amassing millions of followers and views. In 2015, Cohen released her debut album Alchemy with her band Meytal, which included the single "Breathe". The album was funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign. Following this, the band released their live album Alchemy: Live in 2016.
