The Hinterland Jazz Orchestra was a German big band founded as a quintet on April 30, 2008, in Holzhausen by Charly Mutschler. Initially named the Karl Keller Band, the ensemble gave its first performance on September 13, 2008. By 2010, the group expanded and adopted its current name. The orchestra performed in various genres, including swing, pop, jazz, and easy listening. In 2014, they released their debut album, Good Mood. The ensemble gained wider recognition in 2016 for the orchestral arrangement of the song "So sehen Sieger aus (Jogis Jungs)". Their discography included the albums Groovin' Hinterland (2015) and Swinging Christmas (2017). The group performed over a hundred concerts and supported charitable causes, such as the NABU Dautphetal and children's hospice Balthasar, through benefit performances.
