Raphaël Faÿs, born on December 10, 1959, in Paris, France, is a French guitarist and composer. Trained from an early age under the guidance of his father, jazz guitarist Louis Faÿs, he built a foundation in classical guitar and music theory that shaped his later career. He began performing in Paris and gained early attention in the 1970s through televised appearances that showcased his gypsy swing–influenced playing style. Over time, Faÿs expanded his musical language into jazz fusion before dedicating himself more fully to flamenco after being influenced by Paco de Lucía. In the 2000s and 2010s, he released a series of flamenco-oriented works including Extremadura (2009), Mi Camino Con El Flamenco (2011), and Circulo De La Noche (2015).
