Julio Bashmore, born Matthew Walker in Bristol, United Kingdom, began DJing at fourteen, quickly establishing himself in the local house scene. His breakthrough came with the 2009 Julio Bashmore EP on Dirtybird, followed by the 2010 Chazm / Footsteppin' release on Ten Thousand Yen and the 2011 Batty Knee Dance EP on 3024, which cemented his reputation for deep, bass‑heavy tracks. In 2012 he launched his own label, Broadwalk Records, and released Au Seve, which entered the UK Singles Chart at number 55 and earned a silver certification. The same year, Husk expanded his catalogue, and 2013’s Mirror Song showcased his evolving production style. 2014 brought "Peppermint" featuring Jessie Ware and "Simple Love", both of which received widespread club play. His debut full‑length album, Knockin' Boots, was issued in 2015 on Broadwalk and peaked at number 25 on the UK Albums Chart, marking a significant commercial milestone. Since then, Bashmore has continued to release singles such as "Rhythm Of Auld" and "Bubblin" while maintaining a presence on international festival stages and radio playlists, solidifying his status as a prominent figure in contemporary deep house and UK bass music.
