Gustavo Lara Sosa, born on March 22, 1971, in Veracruz, Mexico, is a Mexican singer-songwriter. He began his musical journey at age 16, performing with various groups and exploring different genres. By 19 years old, he was serving as a backup vocalist and percussionist for Pedro Fernández. In 1996, Lara released his debut album Gustavo Lara under BMG Ariola, featuring notable singles such as "A la sombra de los ángeles" and "Princesa". His first production earned him a gold record in Ecuador. Subsequent albums include Pequeña historia (1997), Viaje al corazón (1998), and GL (2000). In 2009, he independently released Con v de vuelta, followed by No vuelvas a pararte frente a mi in 2014. Lara has composed songs for various artists across different genres and participated in the fifth season of La voz México in 2016. His later albums include Hablame de ti (2018) and 8 (2021).
