Stabilo, a Canadian rock band from Maple Ridge, British Columbia, formed in 1999. The group initially consisted of Jesse Dryfhout, Christopher John, Shaun Bennett, and Nathan Wylie. Their early breakthrough came with the release of Kitchen Sessions in 1999, followed by their self-titled debut album in 2001, which included the hit single "Everybody". In 2003, after recording at Mushroom Studios, they signed with EMI Canada and changed their name to Stabilo. Their first major-label release, Cupid?, was released in May 2004 and featured the singles "Everybody" and "One More Pill". The band's second album, Happiness & Disaster, released in March 2006, included the hit single "Flawed Design", which topped Canadian charts. Stabilo received notable recognition, including a SOCAN award for "Flawed Design" in November 2007 and a Juno Award nomination for New Band of the Year in February 2007. The band announced their permanent hiatus in April 2011.
