Danny Brooks is a Canadian blues and R&B musician born in Canada in 1951. Daniel G. P. Middlebrook began a professional career in the 1970s and performed in blues, country, and rock bands. Their debut recording, After the Storm (1990), was followed by the album Rough Raw & Simple (1993). Brooks recorded the album It's A Southern Thing (1998) and the Soulsville trilogy consisting of Souled Out 'n Sanctified (2004), Rock This House (2005), and Live at the Palais Royale (2009). They performed at festivals including the Austin City Limits Music Festival. Brooks received a Juno Award nomination for Most Promising Male Vocalist in 1991. Their recordings include the song “Other Side of the Cloud” (2005), which reached Number 1 on the National Association of Rhythm and Blues Dee Jays charts.
