The Cimarons, a British reggae band formed in 1967, were the UK's first self-contained indigenous reggae group. Originally from Jamaica, they emigrated to London as teenagers and formed their band after meeting at a youth club in Harlesden. Vocalist Winston Reid joined in 1973, and they began working as session musicians for Trojan Records, backing artists like Jimmy Cliff and Dennis Brown. Their debut album In Time was released on Trojan Records in 1974. The band's second album, On the Rock, released in 1976 by Vulcan Records, included a cover of Bob Marley's "Talking Blues," which topped the Jamaican charts at Number 1 for several weeks. They signed to Polydor Records, releasing Live at the Roundhouse and Maka in 1978. After a hiatus from 1983 to 1995, they released compilations including People Say.
