Gaston Gabaroche, born on September 29, 1884, in Bordeaux, was a French actor, singer, and musician. He studied at the Collège Sainte-Marie de Saint-André-de-Cubzac and later at the conservatories of Bordeaux and Paris. His early career began at the cabaret La Lune Rousse, where he composed numerous songs and opérettes. Notable works include "Les Chichis de Guillaume" and "Amour Folie", which were performed by artists such as Félix Mayol and Dranem. During World War I, Gabaroche wrote several patriotic songs like "La Fiancée du soldat". His compositions were often re-released or included in compilations, with notable recordings by Annie Flore in 1964. Among his opérettes are Ta Douche...Bébé! (1922) and Azor (1932). Gabaroche also had a film career, appearing in movies such as French Cancan (1955), where he played the role of Oscar, the pianist. He passed away on August 28, 1961, and is buried in the Cimetière des Batignolles.
