Shock Headed Peters was an English post-punk band that formed in 1982. The ensemble was founded by Karl Blake and Ashley Wales, who were later joined by Dave Knight, Mark Rowlatt, and Clive Glover. Their name originated from the children's book Der Struwwelpeter by Heinrich Hoffmann. They toured with The Dave Howard Singers between 1984 and 1986. Their early recordings include the EPs I, Bloodbrother Be (1984) and The Kissing of Gods (1985). They released the studio album Not Born Beautiful (1985), followed by Fear Engine (1987). The group disbanded in 1987 but resumed activity in 1990 with Blake and Knight. Their later discography includes the albums Several Headed Enemy (1992), Fear Engine II - Almost As If It Had Never Happened (1993), and Tendercide (1996).
