Lemzo Diamono, a Senegalese musical group formed in 1990 in Dakar, was founded by Lamine Faye on guitar. The group included notable members such as Alioune Mbaye Nder on vocals, Mada Ba on choir and vocals, Salam Diallo on percussion and vocals, and Fallou Dieng on vocals. Lemzo Diamono gained popularity in the 1990s with their innovative style of Mbalax, known as Marimbalax, which featured marimba accompaniment. Their breakthrough came with hits like "Sétsima (My Lover)", "Atterrissage Forcé", and "Simb". The group's debut album Marimbalax was released in 1997. Lemzo Diamono disbanded in 1998 but reunited briefly in 2011 for a performance on Youssou N’Dour’s TFM television channel during the Korité festival.
