The career of accordionist Michel Pruvot is closely linked to television. He began playing the musette at the age of thirteen, but in the 1960s was forced to lead a ballroom orchestra in order to survive. Michel Pruvot returned to his beloved musette in the 1980s, making a name for himself in 1982 by breaking the world accordion endurance record. From then on, a string of television appearances consolidated his popularity. Michel Pruvot became a permanent guest on La Classe (1986) and Intervilles (1989), before creating his own show with Sur un air d'accordéon in 1992. In 2010, Michel Pruvot celebrated fifty years of a busy career, which in 2012 enabled this cycling enthusiast to fulfill one last dream by following the Tour de France caravan. In July 2013, Michel Pruvot released the album Roulez, Roulez and the single "La Chanson du tour" to mark the centenary of the Grande Boucle.
