Born on March 30, 1989, Elliott Garvey aka Quartz is a British drum'n'bass DJ and producer from Cardiff, Wales. Known for his dark, atmospheric style, he began releasing tracks in the early 2010s and has become a household name since signing with the iconic Metalheadz label and releasing the Hall of Mirrors EP (2018), followed by Snakes (2020), Coercion (2021), Hydra (2022) and Thorns (2022). His growing success in clubs and on listening platforms made Quartz one of the major drum'n'bass figures of the 2020s. In 2023, the EPs Black Decay / Abstract / Pale Tongue, Blacklist, Apparitions and Deity Spear were successively released. Released in February 2025, the Lucid EP blends techstep, darkstep and neurofunk. It is followed in March by Trauma Response and in November by the critically and publicly acclaimed album Interloper, which reaches #17 in the UK download charts.
