Aer was an American indie band consisting of David von Mering and Carter Schultz, who hail from Wayland, Massachusetts. The duo first gained attention with their debut mixtape Water On The Moon in 2010, followed by The Reach in May 2011. Their first EP, What You Need, was released later that year. In 2012, Aer achieved success with their debut studio album, The Bright Side, which reached number 85 on the US Billboard 200 and was certified Gold. The duo's self-titled second album, Aer (2014), peaked at number 26 on the Billboard Chart. Their third full-length album, One of a Kind, was released in August 2015, followed by a tour that included notable stops such as the State Theater in Portland, Maine, and the House of Blues in Boston. The group disbanded in 2016, with both members pursuing solo careers.
