Gruppo Di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza, an Italian musical improvisation group, was formed in Rome in 1964 by Franco Evangelisti. The ensemble emerged from the association Nuova Consonanza, which Evangelisti founded to explore contemporary composition and improvisation. Notable members included Ennio Morricone and Mario Bertoncini. Their debut album, reissued in America as The Private Sea Of Dreams and released in 1966, showcased their unique blend of free improvisation and electronic sounds. In subsequent years, the group experimented with various formations and styles, including a more jazz-funk oriented sound on their 1970 album The Feed-back. Other notable albums include Improvisationen (1968), Musica su schemi (1976), and Azioni (2006).
