Zion Golan, born on October 6, 1955, in Ashkelon, Israel, is an Israeli singer of Yemenite Jewish origin. He began his music career in 1974 as a soloist in the Israel Army Rabbinical choir. Golan's music primarily features songs in Judeo-Yemeni Arabic and Yemenite Hebrew, with over 22 albums released. His notable collaborations include working with Rabbi Shalom Shabazi and contemporary Yemeni singers such as Fadel Al Hamami. Golan's music has gained significant popularity outside Israel, particularly in Yemen, where his records have sold around 50,000 copies per release despite the Yemeni government prohibiting direct contact with Israel.
