Hernán Jesús González, known professionally as Pecos Kanvas, and born on November 11, 1953, in Caracas, Venezuela, is a singer-songwriter. His music spanned various genres, including merengue, lambada, and romantic ballads. As a singer, he began his musical journey at the age of 15 by participating in youth church choirs and later joined Alfredo Ledezma's show with the group Escena. Four years later, Rudy Márquez gave him the stage name Pecos Kanvas. Kanvas gained prominence when he composed themes for telenovelas on RCTV, notably achieving fame with "Tu Cariño Se Me Va". He spent 12 years at Venevisión, appearing on Sábado Sensacional and continuing to write songs for the channel's telenovelas. Notable albums include Márchate (1972), Pecos Kanvas (1974), and Mar y Luna (1991). He also earned 14 platinum discs during his career. Kanvas passed away on June 2, 2008, at the age of 54 due to a cardiorespiratory arrest.
