Brenda Kahn is an American singer-songwriter, poet, and educator born on May 3, 1967. Originally from Connecticut, she began her career in 1990 with the release of the studio recording Goldfish Don't Talk Back. Kahn signed with Chaos Records and released the album Epiphany in Brooklyn in 1992. She performed as an opening act for Bob Dylan and The Kinks. Following the dissolution of her label, she released the recordings Destination Anywhere (1996) and Outside the Beauty Salon (1997) through Shanachie Records. Kahn performed at the Lilith Fair in 1998 and 1999 and established the online magazine Womanrock.com. Her discography included the albums Hunger (1999), Seven Laws of Gravity (2010), and the children's recording Rocket to the Moon (2017). She authored the book Ode to Chores: The Good, the Bad, and the Laundry in 2019. In 2023, she released the recording “Alright OK”.
