Brick, an American funk band, was formed in Atlanta in 1972 by Regi Hargis. The group initially consisted of members from two bands—one disco and the other jazz—and coined their own term for disco-jazz, "dazz." Their first single, "Music Matic", was released on Main Street Records in 1976. This led to a signing with Bang Records, where they achieved significant success with their breakthrough hit "Dazz" (released in 1976), which peaked at number 3 on the U.S. Pop chart and Number 1 on the U.S. R&B chart, which they followed with debut album Good High in 1976. The band continued to release notable singles such as "That's What It's All About" and "Dusic" in 1977, and "Ain't Gonna Hurt Nobody" in 1978. which charted at number 48, 2 and 7, respectively with their last top charting R&B hit was "Sweat (Til You Get Wet)" in 1981. Brick's discography includes albums such as Brick (1977) (which went to Number 1), and Waiting on You (1980). The band recorded for Bang Records until 1982. Notable members over the years included Jimmy Brown, Billy Barlow, Tres Gilbert, Melvin Baldwin, Tomi Martin, Sherita Murphy, Donald Nevins, Regi Hargis, and Ambric Bridgeforth.
