Geoffrey Bradfield, born on June 30, 1970 in Houston, Texas, is an American jazz musician and composer. He attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts before moving to Chicago in 2004. Bradfield's early career included membership in Ted Sirota’s Rebel Souls and the release of his debut album Rule of Three in 2001. Bradfield's notable works include African Flowers (2010), recognized as one of the top ten CDs of 2010 by the Los Angeles Times, and Melba! (2013), named one of Down Beat’s Best CDs of 2013. In 2012, he became Assistant Professor of Jazz Saxophone and Jazz Studies at Northern Illinois University. His other significant releases include Birdhoused (2017) and Yes, And… Music for Nine Improvisers (2018). Bradfield has collaborated with various artists, including Matt Ulery on the album Wake an Echo in 2013 and Mike Allemana for Vonology (2023).
