Maysa Figueira Monjardim, known professionally as Maysa Matarazzo, was a Brazilian singer born on June 6, 1936, in Rio de Janeiro. Her career began in 1956 with the release of Convite para ouvir Maysa, her debut album featuring original compositions. In 1957, she released her second album, Maysa, which included the hit "Ouça". She moved to Rio de Janeiro in 1958 and was contracted by TV Rio, releasing Convite para ouvir Maysa II that year. Throughout the 1960s, Maysa's career flourished with albums like Maysa Canta Sucessos. She performed internationally and participated in notable events like the II Festival de la Música Popular Brasileira in 1966. In 1970, she released Ando só numa multidão de amores. Maysa's final album, Maysa, was released in 1974. She died on January 22, 1977, following a car accident.
