Best known for her debut single "Maman", Nina Morato won a Victoire de la musique award and represented France at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994. Born in Paris on March 2, 1966, Stéphanie Morato grew up in Malakoff and began recording under the name Stéphanie in 1983 ("Funky School" and "Tous ces amoureux"), then Christie in 1988 (a Nino Ferrer medley, "Mirza, Oh hé hein bon, Gaston y'a l'téléphone" with her partner David Christie) and Stéphanie de Malakoff ("Mon p'tit Arthur" and "T'en fait 2 fois trop " in 1990).
