Bad Moon Rising was an American rock band formed in 1990, featuring Scottish-born vocalist Kal Swan and guitarist Doug Aldrich. The rhythm section consisted of bassist Ian Mayo and drummer Jackie Ramos. Their debut EP, Full Moon Fever, was released in 1991, followed by their self-titled album Bad Moon Rising on March 21, 1991. The band gained significant popularity in Japan, where they were voted Brightest New Hope by readers of Burrn! magazine after an extensive tour in June 1991. Their studio album, Blood, was released on March 19, 1993. In 1994, Doug Aldrich released his solo album Highcentered. Bad Moon Rising's final studio album, Opium for the Masses, was released in 1995 and featured a support slot with Van Halen at Le Zenith in Paris. The band officially disbanded in the summer of 1998.
